ASSOCIATION GAMES.

ROVERS DEFEAT SWIFTS. SOME FINE GAMES. Ramblers, 5 v. Diamonds, 2. Rovers, 3 v. Swifts, 1. Thistle, 2 v V.M.C.A., 0. V Saturday's games elicited some surprising results, of which perhaps, -the leastexpected was that of the Rovers-Swifts encounter, last year's championship winners having been defeated by three goals to one. Strange to say, this is the first match won during the season by Rovers. Last * year's runners-up • succumbed to Thistle by two to nil, and Ramblers merited a good win from the once-bril-liant Diamonds. Weather conditions were excellent for play. The struggle for final championship honouis is at a highly interesting stage just now, following being the positions of the respective teams : —
