FIRE AT BLENHEIM.
« ST. PATRICK'S HALL. [BY TEI.EGBAPH — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] BLENHEIM, 12th June. At midnight on Saturday a fire broke out in. St. Patrick's Sail, one of a group of Roman Catholic Buildings. It resulted in the complete destruction of the hall and Catholic Men's Club rooms attached to the building. A two-storied residence adjoining, formerly used aa a convent was almost wholly destroyed : and a house in the vicinity, owned by Mr. Burgessj was badly scorched. At times St. Mary's ChuToh was in, danger, but it was not damaged. A billiard table in the -club Tooms and the furniture were lost. Full particulars of tho insurances are not available, but it is understood all the buildings were insured — the hall for £500. .The origin of the fire, which started in the kitchen behind the hall, is not known ; but one of the doors of the hall was found open when the alarm was given The Reichel Fire Alarm gives instantaneous notice in the Fire Brigade Station within 20 seconds of outbreak.
