HARRIERS.

WELLINGTON CLUB. The Wellington Harriers assembled at Lyall Bay on Saturday for the weekly run. Bennett and Lamberg laid the trail across the beach to the foot of the hills, and then along the base of the hills to Seatoun Tunnel. The Seatoun Heights were traversed along to the head of Miramar Valley, round tha back of Wonderland, the return home being made past "the gasometer on to the tram line into Kilbiurie, then back to Lyall Bay. A 300 yds run in was won by W. White, L. Salek being second, and C. Bowberry third. In tha absence of the captain (F. Wilson) the pack was in charge of W. Cress. Eighteen entries have been, received for the Palmer Cup Race, which will be run at Miramar next Saturday. BROOKLYN CLUB. The Brooklyn Harriers held their first; club race of the season on S.Sturday, and were favoured with glorious weather and a large attendance of spectators, in-i eluding Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P. (president of the club), and ahso Dr. Couzens, Messrs. G. Frost, and W. H. Philps (vice-presidents). Mfc F. Wilton (captain of the Wellington Harriers) acted as tho official timekeeper, with Messrs. W. H. Philp and W. N. Be»ven. A course of three miles was measured out during the week, and E. Shaw laid the paper. Ten men faced the starter, Miss Frost. A solid pace was set from the start, and was kept up until the finish, enabling two men (C. Murray and F. Hodson) to lower the previous record put up over the same course by tho Wellington Haiders.' The first men to show out were F. Hadson and C. Muri ray, and they gradually lengthened tha gap between them and the rest of the men until the finish. At the one mile post Hodson had established a lead o£ 50yd8, but during the next mHe C, Murray closed up, and these two eHtored the straight (600 yds from home) neck and neck. A ding-dong go resulted until the last 200 yds, when Hodson suddenly slowed down, and C. Murray, running well, breasted the tape with 50yds to spare, in the record time of 17min 34sec. The next men to finish, were F. Delaney, P. Wilton, J. Don, T. Coventry, and L. Pearce. A sealed handicap waa run in conjunction with this race, and after handicaps had been adjusted C. Murray again scored. The official times of the «£?t four men were : — Murray (lOsec handicap), 17min 24sec; P. A. Wilton (55sec), 17min 45sec; F., Delaney (40sec), 17min 40sec ; F. Hodson (scratch), 17min 52sec. Next Saturday's run will be held from'; Fullford's Hall, Brooklyn, at 3 p.m.
