Captain Scott and the officers who will accompany him on his expedition to the Antarctic regions were entertained at lunch afcthe Holborn Restaaarant by the Royal Geoga-aphical Society. Responding to the toast of his health, Captain Soot* referred with pride to the Australians, New Zealaoders, and other colonials who were associated with the expedition. He claimed that he had tried to make it an Empire expedition ; it was thoroughly representative of the.hardihood and energy of the race.
