There Avas a packed audience at Covent Garden Theatre — some people waiting in a queue from 11 o'clock in the morning — to welcome Madame Melba, who reappeared in "La Boheme." She was given a Taptrrous reception, and the floral offerings overflowed from her dressing-room into the corridors. One bouquet of lilies was eight feet high.
