TO PREVENT CRUELTY.
At the fortaightly meeting 1 of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, held in the Chamber of Commerce last evening, subscriptions totalling £6 were received from the following : Mrs. M. A. Williams, JB2 2s ; Mr. J. R. Blair, £1 Is; Mr. C. H. Dickerson, 10s ; Mrs. Elgar, Messrs. D. Milligan, Baliinger Bros., T. H. Gill, J. Pike, officers of Bank of New South. Wales, 5s each ; Messrs. J. Speed, J.S. and Son, 8.8. and Son, G.H., 53, and Friend, 2s 6d each; R. and G., 2s ; total, £6. The inspector (Mr. Seed) reported several cases of cruelty to animals. All are receiving his attention.
