A NEW CHAPTER. IN IMPERIAL HISTORY.

RECOGNITION OF DOMINIONS' REPRESENTATIVES. WELCOME AND PRAISEWORTHY. By Telecraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. (Received May 25, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 22nd May. The Daily Mail says:—"A welcome and most praiseworthy innovation wasthe presence at the funeral ceremonies at Windsor of Lord Strathcona, Sir' George Reid, and the Hon. W. HallJones (High Commissioners for Canada, Avstralia, and Xciv Zealand respectively). Their presence in their official character marks a new chapter in Imperial history. The Master of Ceremonies recognised the claims of the Dominions none too soon." The paper adds that it is hoped colonial representatives will be invited in larger numbers and be given more prominent places in future State functions.
