A sketch exhibition was opened at the Academy of Arts Gallery this afternoon. Over 300 works aro on exhibition. The sketches will be on view during the week. Tho s.s. Duchess will run excursions to Day's Bay on Sunday morning and aftovnoon at the iisual hows. The full timetable is advertised in tliia issue. An amended list of city and' suburban properties is advertised in this issue by Messrs. H-arcourt and Co. A branch of the bank of Australasia is now open at Te Aroha. On Wednesday, at, 1 p.m., at the Fruit Exchange, Blair nnd Allen-streets, Messrs. Thompson Bro.-., Ltd., will :-r>ll on b»haU of Mr. A. M'MMlan, of the Blaokbridge Nurseries, Lower Hutt, a quantity of Hutt-grown nursery stock. Catalogues are being prepared, aad will bo posted on request.
