Last night frosts occurred in many parts. The barometer has fallen slowly in the north, but rose in tho south early on Friday morning, and fell considerably early this morning. The winds have been variable and moderate to strong. TO-DAYS WEATHER.

At 9 a.m. the following forecast was issued for the subsequent 24 hours : — Winds.— Moderate to strong south-eahterly winds probabry prevailing northward ot New Plymouth and Napier, and northerly elsewhere. Barometer. — Fall everywhere. Sea.— Rough between East Capo, and Kaikoura; considerable on the West Coast of the South Island ; moderate elsewhere. Tides.— Good between East Cape and Kaikoura, and moderate elsewhere. Weather.— Cloudy, cool, and showery weather is probable generally, and especially on the east coast ot the North Island, and the southernmost districts. Note. — There are indications for the existence of two disturbances off New Zealand — one north-eastward of East Cape, and another to the south-west of Stewart Island, and both are likely to cause further change in the weather conditions.
