HOOKEY.

WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Management Committee o£ the Wellington Hockey Association "was held last night, Mr. W. J. Organ piiesidiiig. An offer by the Karori Borough Council, at a rental of £15 for the use of two grounds, was accepted. It was decided to tend a team to play Manawahr at Palmerston on the^ifrd June. Mi-. 11. V. Walton was appointed manager. There u'as discussion on correspondence received from tJie Wellington Ferry Coirtpany with respect to the condition of tbe Day'p Bay grounds. Eventually it was agreed to leave the matter in the hands of the chairman and secretary. Regarding; shield matches, it was resolved to play a trial practice match on the 18t'h June and to allot the following Saturday Bar the Wellington- Haw kes Bay game — the first on the list. Notification was Teceived> from the New Zealand Association that the disqualification imposed upon T. Wall, of the Manawasi/u Association, had been removed. Messrs. Ltsckie, Walton, and Organ were appointed a sub-committee to deal with the affiliation of the Wellington Wednesday Association to Wellington Association a.= a sub-association. Instructions were given that 'the Referees' Association be informed that tho committee can-not recommend to the annual meeting that the association have a representative on the management committee. ' A protest was lodgeo by Metropolitanagainst their thted class-match with Wellington being declared a draw on the grounds that one of the Wellington players was an unregistered member of the club, and had previously played for another team. It was re-solved that no action could be taken in the absence of tho player, whose name was not given. The Wellington Ladies' Hockey Association was allowed the use of the Day's Bay ground for the season at a rental of £25. A letter was formally received from the Wellington Football Association, complaining that- hockey players encroached on the Association grounds at Kelburne Park. Consideration of suggested alteration to the rules of the New Zealand Association was left in the hands of a subcommittee consisting of Messrs. Organ, Walton, and Bennett. Messrs. Organ, Bennett, and Luckie were elected to join a deputation from the Wellington. Football Association to wait on the Reserves Committee of + h'> City Council with legard to .the use of tho grounds and postponement of matches.
