TRIBUTES BY MESSRS. O'CONNOR AND O'BRIEN. (Received May 18, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, 17th May. In Mr. Redmond's absence, Mr. T. P. O'Connor, M.P., at the Irish League Convention in Belfast, paid a tribute to King Edward, but no resolution was passed. Mr. William O'Brien, M.P., speaking at Skibbereen, County Cork, also paid a warm tribute to the memory of the dead monarch. WREATHS. FROM SYDNEY AND NEWCASTLE. AUSTRALIAN JOURNALISTS (Received May 18, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, 17th May. Tli6 City of Sydney's wreath is of mauve lilac flowers, with this inscription in silver lettering on a purple ribbon : "From the Lord Mayor and Citzens ot Sydney." On a card attached are the words: "A token of the deep sorrow, sympathy, and devotion, from the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Citizens of Sydney." Sir George Reid (Australian High Commissioner) is sending a wreath on behalf of the Mayor and citizens of Newcastle. It will be inscribed: "A humble mark ot deep sorrow and loyalty." The Agents-General were specially invited to the lying-in-state at Buckingham Palace yesterday afternoon. flowers, entwined in purple ribbon, with the inscription in silver letters: "From tho Government of South Australia. " New South Wales's wreath is of white lilies, roses, and carnations, with the inscription on a purple ribbon, in silver letters : "From the Government and people of New South Wales."
