During the period ending m April of the present season, the New Zealand Farmers' Union manufactured 110 tons of butter and 112 tons of cheese in excess of the output in the same period last year. The additional turnover, which is due partly to the extremely favourable season and to the increased number of suppliers, totals £19,000. For milk alone the union paid out £5115 during April.
