FIRE AT INVERCARGILL.

[BS TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] INVERCARGILL, This Day. 'A fire broke out at one this morning in a two-storeyed wooden building occupied by E. A. Phillips, photographer, but was suppressed by the prompt action of the brigade. Damage to building amounts to £100 and the stock suffered seriously from smoke and water. The outbreak appears to have been caused by a gas jet left burning in a cupboard. The building was insured for £500 in the North British 4 and the stock for £800 in the [Victoria.
