Yesterday's disposals included : "Waiau," top price 12d per lb, average 9od; "Highdcn," lid and 10^d; "Merrivale, ' Hid and 10|d. The catalogue for the fourth series, opening on 12th July, will be limited to 160,000 bales. FULL PRICES. (Received May 13, 9.38 a.m.^ LONDON, 12th May. The wool sales closed strong, at full prices. The Commerce Division of the Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram from t-he High Commissioner, London, dated 12th May, regarding the closing of the third series of colonial wool sale* : — "The wool sales closed with a, strong market for all classes. There is a general and active demand, and manufacturers are fully employed. Prospects' are favourable. Estimated values : Superior merino, Is Id to Is 3£d ; medium, 10^ to Is o£d ; inferior, 8d to lOd ; fine crossbreds, all grades, lid to Is Id ; coarse crossbreds, all grades, BJ,d to 10id. Twenty thousand bales of New Zealand wool are held over." Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., have received the following cable from London, under date 12th in&t. : — "The sales have closed with a firm market for all wools. An compared with the clos. ing rates of last series, prices for the different qualities are as follows :—: — -Merino, unchanged and very firm ; crossbreds, 5 per cent, down ; whilst medium and coarse crossbreds are 25 per cent, dowr>." Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following wool market cablegram from their London agents, Messrs Sanderson, Murray, and Co., dated i2th May : — "The sales have closed. Twenty-four thousand bales were held over. Compared with last London sales closing rates for merino were very firm, pnd the market shows no material change. Crossbred, coarse to medium, best descriptions, shows no material change. Crossbred, inferior, advanced a shade. Crossbred, fine, declined 5 per cent."
Several of the delegates chosen by the New Zealand Methodist Conference to represent the Dominion at the Australasian Methodist Conference are going to Sydney by this evening's boat. They include: — Rev. J. J. Lewis and Mr. A. A. Lucas (Nelson). Rev. J. X. Buttle (Woolston), Rev. W. Sinclair (St. Albans), Rev C. H. Garland (Durham-street. Christchurch), and Mr. Geo. Tiller (Wellington). The conference opens in Ade'aide on 26th May. Messrs. Thomson and Brown advertise particulars of five properties which they havo received instructions to Fell by pri\ato treaty.
