RETURNS OF THE WEEK. R-etnrns from the City Tramways for the week ending Bth May, 1910, show a very slight decrease as compared with the receipts for the corresponding week of 1909. The actual totals are :— l9lO, £2464 Is lid ; 1909, £2481 8s lid : decrease, £17 7s. For the separate days of the week the daily returns have been as follows :—: — 1910 1909 £. s. d £. s. d Monday ... 375 18 11 337 13 3* Tuesday ... 382 2 5 357 1 84 Wednesday ... 378 8 5 368 9 6£ Thursday ... 360 13 7 354 9 2 Friday ... 347 19 2 330 12 9 Saturday ... 464 10 7 497 18 8 Sunday ... 154 8 10 232 3 9£ It will be noted that all the week days except Saturday show increases, while on Saturday and Sunday there are sudden drops, largely due to the death of King Edward. The midnight car is still running successfully, as shown by the figures :—: — Monday, 13 passengers ; Tuesday, 62 ; Wednesday, 35 ; Thursday, 18 ; Friday, 28; Saturday, 36. Last Sunday- the special morning cars carried 251 adults and 11 children, while the evening "specials" from Con-stable-street and Newtown were patronised to the extent of 82 and 92 passengers respectively.
