PERSONAL MATTERS.

The Hon. Dr. Findlay will return to Wellington from the North this evening. Mr. F. Moorhouse, of the Wellington Tourist Office, has been appointed ranger of the Rotorua district. The Minister of Education (Hon. G. Fowlds) returned to Wellington from Auckland yesterday evening. Mr. A. Dillon. M. P. for Hawkes Bay, and Mr. R. W. Smith, M.P. for Rangitikei, are on a visit to Wellington. Mr. James Mackenzie, Commissionar of Crown Lands in Wellington, is still confined to bed with a severe attack of influenza. Dr. A. K. Newman, ex-Mayor of Wellington, left for Auckland, en route for England, by the Main Trunk express yesterday. Mr. T. Ronayne (General Manager of Railways), Mr. J. Burnett (Chief Engineer), and Mr. H. Buxton (Chief Traffic Manager) are inspecting the railways in the Auckland district. Mr. J. J. Virgo, general secretary of the Sydney Young Men's Christian Association, and hon. national secretary, has received word of his appointment as Australasian representative of the Woild's Alliance, which has its headquarters at Geneva, Switzerland. Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P., Mayor of Wellington, received a cable message from Mrs. Wilford, who is at present at Home, announcing, her intention of 1 leaving London for Australia by the Orient Company's Orsova on 27th May. The steamer is due at Melbourne on 6th July, and Mrs. Wiiford will reßch Wellington about a week later.
