The Hon. Dr. Findlay returned to Wellington from Palmerston last night. Mr. D. J. Nathan has returned to Wellington from a trip to Auckland and the thermal districts. Iho appointment of Miss Jessie Sexton, as sister at tho Otaki Sanatorium, was yesterday -jonfirmed by the Hospital Trustees. The Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. ]?. Hally) will 'cave for Napier on Monday in connection with the tailoresses' dispute there. Mr. J. Kirker, general manager of the South British Insurance Company, ha 6 been elected president of the council of tne Fire Underwriters' Association. Mr. J. Vigor Brown, M.P., Mayor of Napier, has been voted an honorarium of j £209 for his municipal services during the past year. Joynt, who will shortly leave to take up an important position in London, was bidden farewell at a gathering of Thmndon Swimming Club members lad. evening. Replying to cordial speeches, Mr. Joynt said he would Hover forget ibo many pleasant days he had spent wrth the swimmers in Wellington. He looked forward to returning at some future date, when he would be pleased to renew old acquaintances.
