HOnOWHENUA RUGBY UNION. ANNUAITTIEETING. [BT TCLEOBArU — SPECIAL TO TUB POST.] OTAKI, This Day. At the annual general meeting of the Horowhcnua Rugby Union the following delegates were piesent :— Messrs J. C. Burns (chairman), Thome (hon. secretary), Cooto (acting hon. treasurer), Burge, Karauti, M'Donald, Ruihi, Woods, Mackenzie, Moynihan, M'Bwn, Proctor and Lindsay. The report congratulated clubs on a good Reason lant year. The balance-sheet showed a small surplus of assets over liabilities. The Toinui Junior Club was admitted. Following were the officers elected for the ensuing season :— Patron, Mr. B. R. Gardner; president, Mr. T. Bevan, t'unr. ; vice-president to New Zealand tugby Union, Mr. J. S. Fowler; delegate, Mr. J. C. Burns; hon. secretary, Mr. Thorne ; hon. treasurer, Mr. Coote ; senior selector, Mr. J. S. Fowler ; auditors, Messrs Gardner and Maclntyre; management committee, Messrs Ruihi, Moynihan, Karauli, M'Donald, and Proctor. The meeting decided to receive and endorse tho ropont on school football received from Mr. Harding (Levin School), but reoommended that for the future the secondary department of Levin District High School be excluded from such competitions. On the motion of Mr. M'Ba.in, it was mad« a recammendatian to the i«w Management Commfttee that they approach the Referees' Association with regard to lessening the privileges enjoyed by rton-aiotive referees, or increasing the subscription to the association. Vote» of five guineas and two guineas respectively were unanimously passed to Meears Thome and Douglas (hon. secretary and hon. treasurer) for their past service, the latter-named gentleman to receive a souvenir.
