Samuel Montagu and Company and the Bank of Adelaide are jointly issuing the South Australian loan at 101. " AN EXPLANATION. TRANSACTION NOTHING TO DO WITH GOVERNMENT. (Received April 16, 10.32 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. The Treasurer, the Hon. A. H. Peake, states that the cablo regarding a loan refers to portions of two loans of half a million each, which 1 were sold privately through Elder, Smith, and Company a few weeks ago. The purchasers are putting it on the market, and it is not being floated as a South. Australian loan at all. The Government, he says, is not contemplating floating a loan -, it has money to carry it over many months.
