The loan has been underwritten. JOINT ISSUE. "(Received April 16, 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, 15th April. Samuel Montagu and Company and the Bank of Adelaide are jointly issuing the South Australian loan at 101. " AN EXPLANATION. TRANSACTION NOTHING TO DO WITH GOVERNMENT. (Received April 16, 10.32 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. The Treasurer, the Hon. A. H. Peake, states that the cablo regarding a loan refers to portions of two loans of half a million each, which 1 were sold privately through Elder, Smith, and Company a few weeks ago. The purchasers are putting it on the market, and it is not being floated as a South. Australian loan at all. The Government, he says, is not contemplating floating a loan -, it has money to carry it over many months.
