For 13 days after leaving London the apparatus of the Morea was constantly sending and receiving wireless messages, over 30 ships and coast (station* being conversed with during that period. A long "connection" was kept up wkh H.M.S. Hyancinth at distances varying from 900 to 1020 mile*, communication between the two vessels being only teiminated at the end of four days. "Picking up" H.M.S. King Alfred, then Ijing iv Colombo harbour, the Morea received I{eutei'n messages nightly for four days before arriving tbeio from the warship, the maximum distance covered being 1329 miles. On ,16th March a chft>t> match was played by "wirelesn" with thf Duti-h mail steamer Oranje, bound liom Rotterdam to BaUvia. Mr. H. G. Lee, of Bath, England, pUyed oil behalf of tin* pas«ejigers of tne Moree, and Mr. Lorgeon, of Amsterdam, represented tho Oranje. ' Mr. Lorgeon won the toss, and claimed fir*t move, and a very pven game wain maintained for the rest of the day. On restarting play on the second day, Mr. Lee rapidly gained a vpry strong position, and on the thirty-seventh move Mr. Lorgeon was fbrced'to resign. 'Plug i* the second match which the Morea ha* played recently by means of her'Marcora telegraph, the previous one having taken place in the Bight last January against!* the P. and O. R.M.B. Mantua.
