WELLINGTON GOLF CLUB.
A PROSPEROUS YEAR. Last year the Wellington Golf Club made a net gain o£ 31 membpis, bringing the roll up to 327, including 103 ladies (78 players), states the report to be presented at the fifteenth annual meeting next Thursday. The revenue account for the past year shows a credit balance of £302 18s 4d. It has been decided by the committee to apply this balance to the writing-off of the debit balance brought forward from tho previous year, amounting to £298 8s 4d, and carry forward £4 10s. During the year tho sum of £339 18s 5d has been expended in improvements, consisting of bunkers, tees, bridges, new buildings, and additional plant and furniture. The links are in a very satisfactory state. The incoming committee will require to complete tho bunkers by filling them with sand, and in some cases enlarging them. "The club," adds the report, "is indebted to Sir Joseph and Lady Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh M'Neil, Mr. Wakeford Cox, and captain and officers of H.M.S. Challenger, for trophies presented to the club during the past season. It will be the duty of the new committee to arrange the competitions for the three last-mentioned trophies, which arrived too late to be played for last year." At the conclusion of the general meeting thero will be a special meeting to consider a proposal that an ndditionnl subscription of £1 Is should be payable by members desiring *.o play lawn tennis. The committee is endeavouring to secure a special train for the opening of the season on 23rd April.
