Liberal newspapers characterise the Imperial pioneers as dumped colonial protectionists and ridicule their claim to be non -political. Frank Fox and D. O'Conner spoke to the League of frontiersmen, and acted as stewards at the opening meeting at Walwortb. The speaker! were severely heckled, and asked who had delegated them -to visit England. A few days ago n cable message stated : — Half a dozen self-appointed, self-stjled "Imperial Missioners" from Canada, South Africa, and Australia, nre addressing meetings in England on Imperial preference. They do not seek the support of political organisations, and do not claim to be acting in a representative capacity, but promise to undertake a revival like a religious revival.
