LACROSSE.

At the annual meeting ef the Capitol Club (Mr. S. J. Moran presiding) sixteen new members were elected. The following officerh were elected for the year: — Patron, Mr. R. W. M'Villy ; president , Mr. T. S. Young ; viie-president.-, Messrs. Geo. .Shirtcliffe, J. P. Luke, M.P., T. Carmichael, K. Fletcher, R. Clouston, J. E. Fitzgerald, and Hon. Dr. Findlay; bon. fcecretaiy and treasurer, Mi. R. Rankin; committee, Messiß. Jantke, Borrodale, Schnlenberg, and Forbes ; delegates to tho Wellington Lacrosse Association, MesbiK Moran, Rankin, and Jantke. In the course of the annual report it was stated that of the twelve representative players who took the field against Auckland last season seven were members of the Capitol Club. The club had suffered greatly during the past seaton as a result of the establishment of two new clubs in the city (Kelburne and Columbia), tho Capitol Club having generously conceded to this movement eleven of its most promising and enthusiastic player*. The finances of the club were on a sound footing, there being a very ftubfctanlial credit balance on Ihe year's working. The thanks of tho committee were tendered to Messrs G. Shirtcliffe, J. P. Luke. M.P., and T. S. Young for financial assistance rendeied.
