HOMING PIGEON SOCIETY.
During the past week the Wellington Homing Pigeon Society has flown youngbird races as follow :— From Dannevirke, 102 miles (80 birds, representing 16 lofts)— Messrs. Conder and Hoare's No. 238 (979 yds per mm), 1; Mr. Bidding's No. 376 (978 yds), 2 ; Mr. Griffith's No. 123 (975 yds), 3; Mr. Bailey's No. 232 (973 yds), 4; W. J. Richards and Son's No. 114 (928 yds), 5; Mr. Lewis's No. 405 (924 yds), 6; Mr. Chapman's No. 131 (920 yds), 7. From Waipa wa, 133 miles (40 birds, representing 12 lofts)— Mr. Powell's No. 438 (1083 yds), 1; Mr. Griffith's No. 321 (1070 yds), 2; Mr. Elliott's No. 180 (106byds), 3; Mr. A. Clark's No. 4 (1066 yds), 4; Mr. Haynes's No. 30 (1059 yds), 5; Mr. Biddings No. 374 (1057 yds), 6. In the race from Ambeiley, 164 miles, Mr. C. Haynes's b. c. hen No. 246 was the only bird home within tho timo limit (two days).
