SIR S. EVANS AND SIR RUFUS ISAACS.

Sir Samuel Evan3 (who was recently appointed President of the Divoice and Admiralty Division of the High Court) Has been created a Privy Councillor. Mr. Rufus Isaacs, who succeeded Sir Samuel Evans as Solicitor-General, has been made a knight. Sir Samuel Evans, K.C., and M.P. for Mid-Division of Glamorganshire sine* 1890, was the last Queen's Coun&el appointed (in 1901). Ha was Recorder of Swansea from 1905 to 1908, when hft was appointed Solicitor General. Mr. Rufus Isaacs was born in 1860, and hns sat in Parliament as a Liberal since 1904. He was educated at University College School, and at Brussels nod Hanover. He is one of the leaders of the English Bar. .
