* LIVERPOOL SPRING MEETING. GRAND NATIONAL. By Telegraph. — Press Association. — Copyright. (Received March 19, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, 18th March. At the Liverpool Spring meeting, the following was the result of the race for THE GRAND NATIONAL STEEPLECHASE (handicap), of 3000 soys, including a trophy of th© value of £125. Second horse to receive 300 says, and third 200 soys, and fourth 75 sov6 out of the plate. Grand National course, about four miles and 856 yards. (Seventy entries). Mr. Stanley Howard's Jenkinstown, aged 10.5, 1 Mr. C. G. Aseheton-Smith's Jerry M., aged, 12.7, a Mr. R. H. Hall's Odor, aged, 9.7 3 Mr. Afisheton-Smith had three representatives in the race — Jerry M., Cackler, / and Holy War. The two firstnamed were equal topweights, with 12.7 apiece, whilst Holy War carried 11.10, the only horse to slip the trio being Moonstruck, whose impost was 11.12. Other horses still engaged when tli© lateflti files to hand left England were the American-bred Simon Pure 11., and Precentor 11., who belongs to Mr. Foxhall Keene. France was represented by Count de Castclbaiac's Bonfire 11. Of the remainder of the field, no less than sixteen started last year, including Juda«, Caubeen, Tom West, Hercules 11., Leinster, Shady Girl, and Carsey, who finished second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth respectively.
