ADDINGTON STOCK SALES.
[BY TEtEGRAPH — PHE33 ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 16th March. At Acldington yards yesterday there wa=! a largo entry of all classes of stock and good attendance. Store sheep met with a good sale. Fat lambs were firm, tegs showing v rise. Fat cattle were v. ithout change, and pigs were dull of sale. Fat sheep showed a rise in price. Store cattle were dull of sale, and dairy eous wero in moderate demand. i Tho yarding of store sheep was not quite as large as the previous week, and the offerings wero mostly of backward sorts. Thero was a kcenet- demand for ewes, arid they «old at ls per head advance, while rape lambs wero down a similar amount. Thero wns no change in regard to wethers. Two-tooth owes mado 14s to 16s 6d; four-tooths, 13s to 17s; and sound-nionthed, 10s 9d to 15s; forward w others made 13s to 145.; others, 8s lid to 11s 6d; forward lambs, 11s to 12s 2d; others, 73 8d to 10s bd. There was again I a largo yarding of fat lambs, totalling [ 8149 head, and including some good lines of tegs, but thero was also a proportion of inferior and unfinished lambs. There was a keen demand for all well-finished lota, and teg 3 showed an advance of about 3d to od per head, and wero firm at last week's rates. Thero wns a fairly I large yarding of fat iheep, tiio greater | portion being ewes. There wad a good I demand for all descriptions, and prices wore firmer all round. Range of prices was : — Prime wothers, 15s 3d to 18*> 2d ; lighter, 13s 3d to 15s; (irinio ewes, 12s bd to 163 lid; otheia, 10s 6d to 12s; morino owes, 8s Id to 8o 7d. Entry of fat cattle totalled 280 head, which, wore mostly sent in by dealers. Heifer beof was in rather bi'tier demand, but, on the whole, thero was little or no change in values. Steers realised £6 17s 6d to £11 ss; heifers, £5 5h to £7 17s 6d; and co\vs, £4 2s to £8 15s, equal to 19s 6d to 22s 6d for prime, 18s to 198 for medium, and 15s 6d to 17s 6d for cow and inferior per 1001b. Veal calves mado 3s 6d to 525, and up to £3 16s for extra large. There was a largo entry of store cattle, which mostly met with a 6lcrw sale; 18-months-old sorts made 2Ch to 335, and three-year-old fteors sold up to £5 15s ; dairy cows made £3 8s to £9 15s. Thero was a large entry of pigs, and they met with dull sale through jut. Baconers brought 440 to 525, equal to 34d to 32d per lb; porkers, 32s to *3s, equal to 4Jd to 4id per lb; large .stores 25s to 325; smaller, 14s to 18s; and weanors 6s to 11s 6d. A line of 50 good stores from Hanua Bros., Southbn Igo. changed hands at 31s. PRICES AT JOHNSONVILLE. Messrs. Abraham and Williams report on their Johnsonville sale yesterday an follows:—Wo offered a heavy yarding of prime sheep and cattle, which sold readily at lato rates. Be?t bullocks, £8 7s 6d to £3 10s ; lighter. £8 to £8 sa— equal to 20s 6d per 1001b ; vealeni, 22s to 28s 6d. Prim© heavy wethers, 15s Id ; good quality wethers, 13a 7d ; merino wethers, 11s ; prime heavy owes, 12s lid to 13s; good quality •owes, 12r 6d ; plain, lCs fid. Prime woolly lambs, 12s 2d ; shorn lambs, 9s 2d to 10a 9d.
