REPAIRS TO THE KAIPARA. • REPORTED ACCEPTANCE OF A WELLINGTON FIRM'S TENDER. It. is understood that Messrs. Hutchison and Campbell, Ltd., ironfounderf, of Wellington, are the successful tenderers for repairing work to the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Kaipara, which was seriously damaged j by striking a submerged obstruction in Rangitolo Channel, Auckland-. The amouflt of the tender has not been disclosed. The task of making the vessel seaworthy will probably be one of the biggest engineering works ever taken in hand in New Zealand. One of the partners in the firm is at present at Auckland. Messrs. Hutchison and Campbell are successors to the late Mr. Edward Seagar in the iionfounders' business which has been carried on for many years past in Victoria-street.
