SCHOLARSHIPS.

.WELLINGTON DISTRICT RESULTS. The following are the results (in order of marks) of the examination of candidates in the Wellington Education District for hoard and junior national scholarships. So far the first fourteen candidates in order of merit on the senior list have been awarded scholarships. In regard to the junior competition, the candidates are divided into three classes, as follow : — A, from schools of over 200 pupils; B, from schools of 41 to 200 pupils; C, from schools up. to 40 pupils. In the A division 23 pupils gained scholarships, and the remainder free pla-ces. In B division only eleven scholars qualified, and these all receive scholarships, while in G division only one student qualified and was awarded a board scholarship. The Wellington Education District is • entitled to four junior national scholarships. In C class none of the pupils qualified, but a recommendation has been made that two national scholarships be awarded to pupils in A class and two to pupils in D class, as follow : — A Class.
