SCHOOL ATTENDANCE.
PROBABLY A RECORD. [BY TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL TO THE POST.] AUCKLAND, This Day. What is probably a record in school attendance was mentioned at the meeting of the Education Board yesterday. Jt .vas stated that a_ pupil at the To Kopuru School had not missed attendance on a single school day for eight years. The committee of the school wrote, suggesting that the 1 board should make some official recognition of ' this fact. The chairman of the board (Mr. C. J. Parr) moved that a letter of congratulation under lite board seal be sent to the pupil through the committee. He also mentioned that he thought the school had put up something of a record in the matter, and members of the board agreed. They were, however, still further impressed with the school's excellent record in the matter of attendance when the letter went on to state that there were fifteen other pupils in the Te Kopuru School who had not missed v day for seven years.
