DISTRICT HOSPITAL BOARD.
The Wellington District Hospital Board met this morning, Mr. J. P. Luke presiding. There were also present: Messrs. C. J. Crawford, J. N. Gardiner, J. J- Devine, G. Frost, W. Galloway. The report from the Otaki Hospital stated that during December twelve patients were admitted and thirteen discharged. Eight males and four females are under treatment. The matron notified that patients' fees amounting to £41 5s had been received. (A discussion on the matter is reported under another heading.) During the last month five patients were admitted to the Sanatorium, and five discharged. At present fifteen men and nine women are undergoing treatment. The tenders of Messrs. Howell and Noble for the meat supply for the year to the Otaki institutions, and CockereU's for groceries, weie accepted. FINANCIAL. The financial statement disclosed a credit balance of £1883 8s 9d. Pay. ments up to £1646 2s 9d were passed. The estimates for the coming year were also submitted! There was a credit balance on 19th January of £200. The third quarter's levies due were set down at £2972, plus a £ for £ subsidy. Levies in arrears amount to £180, and the sub-* sidy provided is £180. A subsidy on donations amounts to £50, and hospital fees (£446) make the aggregate £7000. As a contra the February and March accounts were assessed at £3400 the two. A sum of £50 was received in fees •from patients at the Sanatorium for the month s>£ December.
