CRICKET.
— + . WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING. The Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association met last evening,' Mr. M. F. Luckie presiding. The Selection Committee notified that a fairly strong team could be got to go to H&wkes Bay to play a representative match there. Members of tho team are to pay their own expenses. The team will leave — if it goes at all — on Thursday week. The Hawkes Bay Association is to be notified to the above effect. In regard to playing championship matches all day on Anniversary Day, it was reported that all teams but North were willing to be_gin early as suggested. The chairman (a member of North) thought that it was possible that North could be persuaded to fall into line. The difficulty appeared to be that a strong eleven could not be assured for this particular team. On his own sug' gestion, the chairman is to make further endeavours to get North into the field with the others, and report to the Championship Committee. Time for starting was fixed at 9.30 a.m., with a luncheon adjournment from 1 o'clock to 2, concluding at 6.45. Saturday's all-day cricket will be equivalent to a two days' match. The captain of the projected team to visit Hawkes Bay will act as manager.
