The survey of the Orari Gorge Estate, which was recently acquired by the Government for closer settlement, has been completed, and the land will be advertised for selection early in February. The ballot will take place early in March. The estate lias been subdivided into twenty rural sections ranging in area from 34 to 205 acres, and five pastoral runs, of acreages from 1790 to 9600. The run of 9600 acres takes in the whole* of Four Peak?, the greater part of which is of no value for grazing purposes. The total area in the estate is 27,0§0 acres. The "survey of tSloane's estate,. : near Belfast, has also been completed. This land consists of sixteen allotments of about three acres each, which are intended to be held by men engaged in the industries at Belfast. The ballot will , be held towards the end of February or early in March.
