Mr. Reginald M'Kenna, First Lord oE the Admiralty, in a speech at Farnworth, Lancashire, said| that in his opinion Lancashire was the pivot of the political situation. If jt ssnt back the same stalwart band of Liberals the victory of the people was won. Lancashire had a reputation of thinking to-day what England would think to-morrow. Mr. C. F. G. Masterman, Parliamentary Secretary to the Home Office, speaking at Harlesden, Middlesex, said he would support any candidate — whether Liberal, Labour, or Nationalist — provided he was with the people against the Lorda.
