The .award in the aerated water workers' case has been filed, and comes into force as from Ist November, 1909, and remains in force till 31st October, 1912. £2 2s ; casual labourers, Is per hour. Youths may be employed except at machine bottling Their wages per week range from 10s to £1 15s. ROPE, TWINE, AND FLAXMILLING. The award affecting the rope, twine, and flaxmilling trade comes into force on Ist January, 1910, and continues in force till Ist December, 1912. Hours : A week's work not to exceed 48 hours;' overtime, time and a quarter. Flaxmills; Worlcing foreman, 50s per week;' engine-driver, as provided in the Canterbury Traction and Stationary Enginedrivers' Award for the time being in force; feeder (alone), 7s per day of 8 hours; feeder and stripper-keeper (combined), 8s ; chief paddock hand, 8s (or from Ist September to 30th April, 20s per ton, remainder of year 22s 6d per ton) ; water scutcher, 6s 6d per day ; tier-np, taker-olf, shakeroff, and porter, 6s : flax-cutters, 6s per ton ; scutching, Is l£d per hour, or 20s per ton ; .scutching, lapping, and pressing, 30.; per ton ; pressing scutched tow, 10s per ton ; dray men, 6s per dny ; lorry men, £2 2s a week ; wagoner, £2 sp. Twine mills : Working foreman, 50s per week ; spinner (who is required to watch up to six machines where there is no assistant), 8s per 8 hours' shift; first spinner where assistant is employed, 7s for 8 hours' shift ; assistant spinner, 6s 3d per 8 hours' shift ; bailer, without assistant, 8s per day of 8 hours ; first bailer, with assistant, 7s; second bailer, 6s 3d ; packer, 7s ; night workers in all classes, 3d per day extra ; foremen not included. Youths' wages in twine mills from 15s to 30s, in flaxmills 15s to 355.
