PETONE ROWING CLUB.

(Notes from my correspondent "Rowlock.") The Selection Committee has chosen the following regatta representative crews : — Senior Fours : G. Dent (stroke), S. M'Farlano (3), tP. Arrowsmith (2), P. Parrant (bow). Junior Fours: J. Bonner (stroke), C. Drummond (3), S. Newell (2), H. .'Sfcruthers (bow). Maiden Fours : C Gallaher (stroke), D. Byrne (3), B. Tremain (2), L. Drummond (bow). Maiden Pairs : B. Tremain (stroke), L. Drummond (bow). Maiden Double Soull3: C. Gallaher (stroke), D. Byrne (bow). In picking these crews, the committee was greatly encouraged by the surprising array of talent. Crows have been blended with a lot of new blood, and now that they have beon given a chance it is up to them to make a name for themselves, and the club they represent. The crews are the strongest yet picked, and officials are anxious that selected members get in all the rowing they jiossibly can, so as to have plenty of time to mature before the 15th January, 1910. The material is well spread over the different crows — big men, fast men. It's only a matter of training that is wanted. The youths are powerful, the maidens solid, and the juniors are suro to prove , a clever crew when the time arrives for a test. Mr. Harry Norton, Wellington, has donated a pair of first-class wager racing sculls for a sculling race — the race to be described as the Norton Sculling Handicap,. Senior fours resulted in a win for A. White (stroke), D. Byrne (3), C. H. Burridge (2), and H. Inglis (bow), by two lengths. White was very safe^ Byrne rowed hard and true, whilst Burridgo and Inglis were always in the thick of the fray.
