FORESTERS' CONFERENCE.

/ ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Delegates appointed to attend the triennial conference of tho Wellington District Ancient Order of Foresters in Picton were officially welcomed on Tuesday evening by the officers and members of Court Clarendon. District Chief Ranger Bro. A. Colquhoun is president of the oonferenoe. On Wednesday morning the Mayor and Councillors extended a civio weloome to the delegates. j The district officers for the ensuing terms aro as follow: — D.C.R., Bro. W. Jossen, Court Kopuranga, Mauriceville ; D.S.C.R.. Bro. H. Shapcott, Court Loyal Enterprise, Masterton; D.S., Bro. A. Whiteford, Robin Hood, Wellington ; D.T., Bro. H. Birch, Court Sir George Bowen, Wellington; D.S.W., Bro. W. L. Smith, Court Epuni, Petone; D.J.W., Bro. W. S. Smith, Court Epuni, Petono; D.5.8., Bro. E. Harlen, Court Sir Goorge Grey, Wellington (elected unopposed). The numorical position of the Wellington distriot is as follows: — Numner of members on register, 4622; joined during year, 407 ; number who have loft ! during year, 388 ; leaving a net increase of 69. Thoro were 42 doathsl during the year — 21 members, 20 members' wives, and one widow of deceased member. A complimentary dinner was tendered to the delegates on Wednesday evening, at which the Mayor of Picton (Mr. H. A. M'Cormiok) waa present. A presentation was made to Bro. North, of Wellington. It has been decided to hold the next annual meeting at Petone, and tho next triennial conference at Mastorton.
