The week began on the Wellington Stock Exchange with more than ordinary dnlness. The business in the investment department to-day was confined to a reported sale of Equitable Building at £9 6s. Trade was just as slack in mining. The 10 o'clock call drew an letter blank, and the noon one produced one transfer, Ross (paid) at 10s. MINING. ' Quotations. Noon to-day. — Waihi Gold Mining, £9 15s (b), £9 16s 6d (s) ; Talisman, £2 6s (b), £2 6s 9d (s).
