The feature the show was the splendid collections of rose blooms. Sweet peas also made a very fine display. Ihe vegetable class was well represented, potatoes especially eliciting good competition^ There was a very fine display of fancy needlework and homework generally. The judges were Messrs. H. Poole (Wellington) and A. Hale (Masterton), Mesdames Wood and Tabuteau (Masterton), Mrs. Bey and Miss Wyatt (Greytown). Mr. J. J. Mead, hon. secretary, assisted by Miss M. Brown, got through his work expeditiously, and the show was opened punctually to time. Messrs. Weightman (Awahuri), Poole (Wellington), and Hale (Masterton), had- good displays of plants and flowers.

The magistrate warned accused of the illegality of being on private premises without authority, an offence for which he was liable to six months' imprisonment, and advised him to try and find some occupation.
