AUCTION AND PROPERTY SALES

Messrs. J. 11. Beihune and Co. will sell on Monday next, on the ground near the Kaiwarra railway station, at 11.30 a.m.,' under instructions from the Railway Department, seven cottages of from three to six rooms, with sheds and stable, to be removed within twenty-one days. The sale is an unreserved one. On Friday next, at their rooms, at 2 p.m., they are holding n sale of watercolour and oil-paintings, English and Australian artists. Pictures by L. W. Wilson, J. Swinton-Diston, E. W. Payton, and others will be offered. Complete catalogues may be had on application, or will be posted to any address, and the pictures will be on view on and after Tuesday next. On Wednesday, Bth December next, the firm are holding a. property sale, consisting of a block of land in Kent-terrace, having a frontage of 64ft by a depth of iUsft. Upon this site formerly stood dwellinghouse No. 43, recently destroyed by fire. The site is adjacent to the principal tram routes of the city, and fronts a wood-blocked street, with a permanent reserve in front. Two residential sections in Glencoe-avenue. off Wellingtonterrace, are being submitted on account of the estate of the late James Smith. These will be sold in one lot, the reserve price being reduced in order to close the estate. Two building sites in Essexstreet will also be submitted. These have a total frontage of 73ft to a private right-of-way at the end of Essexftreet, by a depth of 99ft 9in. A corner property in Newtown is being offered. This comprises freehold land having frontages of 34ffc Tin .and 63ft 6in to Rintoul-street and Millwardstrcet respectively. On it stands fourroomed dwelling No. 45, Rintoul-s'trcet. A block of land at Khandallah, containing an area of 2 roods 10 perches, at the corner of York-street, and having 341 ft frontage, will also be offered. Messrs Bethune and Co. insert an amended list/ of business and residential properties for private sale-; also two 40ft sections in Kelbuvne, and a number of seaside sections at Plimmerton. They also advertise a number of houses to let, both furnished and unfurnished,' and they specially advertise to let Dr. J. M. Mason's property, "Inchcape," Lower Hutt, and a- country house of twelve rooms, one hour from Wellington. Messrs J. H. Bethuna and Co. will hold a property sale at their rooms at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 12th January. Under instructions from the Registrar of tho Supreme Court, they are then submitting a residential property in Laraud-street, comprising freehold land, with an area of 21.8 perches, with villa residence thereon, at present in the occupation of Mrs. *E. Somerville. Details appear in the advertisement. Messrs, T. Kennedy Macdonald, Ltd., will sell on Tuesday next, 30th inst., at their Exchange Land Mart, by order of tho Official Assignee, in the bankrupt estate of Messrs. Petley 'and Young, two five-roomed villa residences, erected on "three sections of land containing three-quarters of an acre, fronting Matai-road, Miramar, on the tramw,iy lint, and facing Miramar Park and Wonderland ; also, in the same estate, 35 shares in Miramar, Ltd., on which 13s per share is paid up. On account of another vendor, a business block, situate No. 130, Adelaide-road, comprising large section, with shop and dwelling of seven rooms, and other buildings at rear, approached by a 10ft right-of-way. The firm also insert a new list of residences and building lands for private sale, included iv which are cheap sections in the Crofton Downs Estate, Ngaio. Plans and prices of the latter can be obtained on application. Houses to let are also advertised ; also particulars of a sale of household furniture to be held at 1.30 o'clock on Wednesday, and of a sale of building material to be held at 11 o'clock on Thursday. Messrs. Harcourt and Co. announce in our advertising columns that they will sell by public auction, at the residence, No. 24. Tinakori-road, on Tuesday, the ,3oth inst., at 11 o'clock a.m., household furniture and effects. On th<? 7th December the firm will sell in their looms, 195, Lambton-quay, at 2.30 p.m., all that piece of land being section 17, having a frontage to Orangi Kaupaparoad, Northland, of 66ft, containing an area of 20.4 perches, together with a four-roomed dwtlling and conveniences erected thereon. Also, on -Thursday, 9th December, the firm will sell at the residence, Iso. 102, Tinakori-road, all that piece of land being part section 648, having a fiontage of 29ft 4in v to Tinakori-road, by a depth of 120 ft, move or less, together with the family residence erected thereon, containing eight rooms and all conveniences ; also the household furniture and effects, contents of above. The sale will commence at 11 a.m. Messrs W. F. Short t, Ltd.. advertise particulars of a___s_ale of household furniture, c.p. ware, .md tailor's slock, to be held at their mart, Willis-street, on Monday, at 2 o'clock. Particulars arc advertised, and the goods will bo on yiew morning of sals.

Messrs. Levien, Shnllcrass, and Co. notify that their bi-weekly sale .of household furniture and effects will be held at the Central Auction Rooms Willis-street, on Tuesday next. A quantity of second-hand furniture will be disposed of without reserve. The same firm also advertise a dealing sale of unredeemed pledges to be held on account of Mr. M. Fruhauf, pawnbroker, on Friday and Saturday next. Attention is also drawn to the firm's advertisement of houses to let and properties for sale. Messrs. A. L. Wilson and Co. advertise particulars of several sales they are holding during the week. On Tuesday, at 11 o'clock, they will sell, on the ground, Sussex-square, next to St. Mark's, Church, timber, iron, etc.; in the afternoon of the same day, at tha residence, 133, Sydney-street, commencing at 1.30, the contents of nine rooms, on account of Mrs. Orr, who is leaving Wellington; on Wednesday they hold their usual sale at their " rooms ; the same afternoon, at their rooms, under distraint for rent., they will dispose of the contents of six rooms; also, under bill-of-sale, one English piano. On Thursday, on the premises. 280, Wel-lington-terrace, they will sell the contents of five rooms, including English piano, falo commencing at 1.30 o'clock. On Friday, on the middle floor of Innis and Son's premises, No. 106, Ingestrestreet, the firm hold a sale of furniture, to clear up an overstocked business, the sale commencing at 1.30. A, prelimi.nary notice is inserted of a sale of 137 sections of the Waldegrave estate, to be held in the firm's rooms on Wednesday, 2nd February, at 7.50 o'clock. Messrs. W. H- Turnbull .and Co. insert in this issue their change list of city and suburban properties, and draw special attention to a property they have for sale at Hataitai.
