The following medals and certificateswere awarded at a meeting of the Court Directors of the Royal Humane Society of New Zealand to-day :—: — Mrs. A. J. Knox and Mrs. H. Knox ; (two Maori women), bronze medal for rescuing Tamaiti H-akaraia from drowning at Otaki ; James S. Tonkin, silver medal for rescuing Harold Funke and Bert Jones from drowning at Napier ; Frederick Baechmann, silver medal for rescuing a man / named Mollen from drowning at Takapuna; Gerald Scobie, framed certificate for rescuing two children from drowning at New Brighton; Clarence Henry Green, framed certificate for rescuing Cecil Bear from drowning at the mouth of the Aparima river, Riverton; Karsten Kornelussen and Signurd Olsen, certificates for rescuing Peter Jacobsen from drowning at Auckland ; Charles C. Cathro, Eden H. Jones, Henry W. Martis, and Arthur W. Larsen, certificates for rescuing three men from drowning in the Wanganui river at Castlecliff; Mrs. Jacobs and Mrs. Hope, stewardesses of the ill-fasted Penguin, In Memoriam certificates to next of kin; Harold Hende, certificate for rescuing Alexander Saraty from drowning in the Big Wanganul river, Sonth Wesiland ; Robert Darroch, an officer on the Ulimaroa, silver medal for rescuing William Graham from drowning in Wellington Harbour ; P. C. Warburton, certificate for saving a. girl from drowning at Sumner; Elsie Coutts, framed certificate for rescuing an infant from drowning at Otetara; Albert Cross, certificate for rescuing Eileen Brown from drowning in the Avon river ; Corporal T. W. Paine, bronze medal for rescuing Sapper John Hastie at Davenport ; Martha Berry, silver medal for rescue of Eileen and Noel Taylor from burning at Blenheim ; A, H.
