CRUISER'S SPEED TRIALS.

OVER TWENTY-SEVEN KNOTS AN HOUR. (Received November 17, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, 16th November. The new third-class cruiser Beltona in her trials attained a speed of 27 4-5 knots an hout. The speed contracted for was 25 knots. The Beltona, which was built at the Pembroke yards, at a cost of ab&ut £285,000, is a cruiser of 3360 tons, 385 ft long and 41£ ft in width. She is fitted with turbine engines by the Fairneld Company.
