MEETING OF SOCIETY. Mr. J, S. Jameson presided at the fortnijjhily meeting of 'the- Society t^ortfie Prevention of Cruelty-to Animals, "held last evening. Others nreeent .were — Mesdanies Kernot and Williams, Rev. J. Reid Glasson, MeSers. Cook, and Brown, the secretary (Mr. Carroll, jun.), and Mr. Beed' (inspector). The following subscriptions were acknowledged:—Mr. G. B. Davy, £1 Is; Bing, Harris, and Co., 10s 6d ; Messrs. E. H. Crease and Son, Dr. R. A. Cameron and New Zealand Bible and Tract Society, 5s each; Messrs. J. Clark, H. Tnnis attd Miss Somerville, 2s 6d each; MrTKendall, 4s 6d; "W.," Is 6d. Total animals were "reported by Mr. Seed.
