WEIGHT-GUESSING COMPETITIONS. ': The following are the results of the competitions at the recent show :—: — '. Five lambs, correct weight 1581b. — W. Dalrymple, Masterton, 1591b, 1; O. I : Meenkin, ClareviHe, 1561b, 2. Five sheep, correct weight 3571b. — F. Taylor, Greytown. 3571b, and A. M'Kenzie, Longbush, 3571b tied. Four pigs, correct weight, 3401b. — Miss Erskiney Cartertou, 3101b, 1; E. A. | Beard, Carterton, 3381b, 2. ""One bullock, correct weight, 9541b. — F. J. Harvey, Belvedere, 9531b, and I L. W. Feast, Greytown, 9551b, tied. Over 440 guesses were made. The animals were slaughtered and weighed on Saturday. In tho afternoon the guesses were sorted. In the ties, the draws were in favour of Messrs. Feast and T. Taylor (care of Feast Bros., Greytown). The animals were weighed in the presence of Mr. H. S. Moss (secretary) and two witnesses, while the guesses were sorted by Messrs W. Howard Booth, H. M'Phee, and G. W. Deller. A good deal of interest was taken in the competition, and the winner (Mr. Harvey) of the first prize in the bullock competition — a Singer /sewing machine — only had the one guess dur- - ing the show. Two years ago he was 151b off the correct weight, and last year came nearer, being only 71b off. The prizes in the other competitions are
