The steamer Mineric, intended for the San Francisco-Australasian mail service, has been launched at Glasgow. Some, time ago it was announced that Messrs. Weir, the managers of the Australian Mail Line, were having built a new steamer, to be larger than any of tho others at present engaged in the service, for the San Francisco-Apia-Auckland-Sydney running. The present fleet comprises the Invcrtay, Croydon, Century, Tymeric, and Katanga. These vessels maintain a four-weekly service from Vancouver and San Francisco to Auckland and Sydney via A.pia. Particulars of the new vessel are not available yet.
