ONSLOW BOROUGH.
COUNCIL MEETING. A meeting of the Onslow Borough Council was held last night, the Mayor (Mr. J. G. Harkness) in the chair. There were also present — Councillors Plimmer, Stafford, Aplin, jun., Ferguson, Lynheberg, Kiernan, and Carver. It was decided to order from Mr. F. Richardson fifty yards of chips from the spawl now being quarried for Railway Department. The price delivered at Khandallah was 6s per yard. Mr. Thomas Wainwright requested an assurance that in the event of his deciding to establish wool-scouring works at Crofton West the council would not withhold its consent. The request was declined. Instruction was given to call for tenders for asphalting and kerbing at Kaiwarra township. The engineer was authorised to frame a bylaw prohibiting the re-erection of any building intended for residential purposes, which has not been removed bodily. It was resolved to make representations to the "Railway Department -egarding the construction and lighting of the overhead bridge at Kaiwarra. Accounts amounting to £448 (general) and £47 (Kaiwarra drainage) were passed for payment.
