BOXING.
PRELIMINARY BOUTS ARRANGED. The preliminary bouts to the Wellington Boxing Association's next tourney have been finally arranged. They are as follow :— Brady (Ghristchurch) v. 0. Tancred (Petone), Morrissey (Christchurch) v. L. Porter (Wellington),' G. Devitt (Wellington) v. H. Butcher (Hastings). The officers for the tourney will be the same as those who officiated, on the last occasion. Hunnings and Tracy, the contestants in the fifteenrounds professional contest, are both training on satisfactorily., H.M.S. Prometheus will not be in port oii Ist November,, the date of the tourney, but the ships- officers have agreed to facilitate Hunnings's desire to visit Wellington in good time for the match. GAULT v. TRACY. Tracy, of Wellington, defeated A. Gault, of Auckland, in a contest of fifteen three-minute rounds, which took place at Auckland last night. , Gault had a good deal the best of the. first foxir rounds, but the next three were even. The eight and ninth rounds were in favour' of Gault, but thereafter * Tracy h'ld 1 a decided advantage. In the fourteenth round Gault was saved from a knock-out by the striking of the gong. >
