MINISTERS AT TATTERSALL'S CLUB.
♦ ~. "DEEP INDIGNATION." The action of certain Ministers of the Crown in bestowing their presence and patronage on Tattersall's Club on the occasion of its opening was made the subject of some adverse comment at the Baptist Union Conference this morning. The following motion, moved by the Rev. J. F. Jones (Spreydon), was carried unanimously: — " r lhat> this conference of the Baptist Union expresses its deep indignation at the patronago given to gambling by two Ministers of the Crown by their presence- at the opening of Tattersall's Club in this city, and their defence of gambling."
