1 [BY TELEGSAPH — SVECI.YL TO IHE POST.] OTAKI, 16th October. At the annual general meeting of the Horowhenua Cricket Association it was decided to arrange, if possible, for "Wednesday and Saturday competitions, to start at 11 a.m. each day, and if unfinished, to be decided on the first innings. An account of £4 odd waß received from a Wellington hotel-keeper for board and lodging, while the representatives were fulfilling an engagement with the Wellington Wednesday team, and it was resolved to try and wipe off the old score. It was decided to invite the Wellington Wednesday team to play a match here on 9th November. The following were elected officers : — Patron, j Air. Byron Brown ; president, Mr. H. Hall ; vice-presidents, Messrs. Brandon, Windley, Bevan, Elder, and Burlin&on ; secretary and treasurer, Mr. M'Meekan ; auditor, Mr. Ayre ; representative selec-, tors, Messrs. Naughton and Ayre. Constable Satherley is still indisposed, and Constable Shaw, of Wellington, is relieving. Mr. Gear, of Te Horo, has every reason to be pleased with the flock owned by him, having secured a percentage of 162 lambs.
