BOWLING.
HUTT GREEN OPENED. The Hult Bowling and Tennis Club green was opened on Saturday by Mr. Thomas Hendry, president of the club. The weather was bright, but rold. There was a large attendance of local residents and visitors from the city, including the Hons. .J. A. Millar, Jas. Carroll, and Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P. Mr. Hendry, after welcoming the visitors, referred to the good standing of the' club, which had closed last year "with a membership of 157, and began the new season with 174. Mrs. Hendry threw the "jack," and play began forthwith. Mr. Hendry apologised for the absence of the' Mayor (Mr. E. P. Bunny). The*e were a large number of ladies present, and afternoon tea.was served. LOCAL GAMES. The following games were played on Saturday :—: — WELLINGTON CLUB.
